My husband and I are expecting our first in a few months and I wanted a book to help us prepare for the first year. Really enjoying the easy-to-read setup and love how they broke it down into sections based on age and development. After reading some negative reviews about THe Baby Whisperer, we wanted something a little less rigid and more realistic when it comes to establishing routines and dealing with specific problem areas (like sleeping, feeding schedules, etc). This book touches on all those things and then some. Looking forward to seeing if the advice indeed helps us out, so I can't touch on if it actually is useful. But it's definitely reassuring and is helping us prepare mentally for what's to come.
Haven't read the entire book..only browsed through a couple of pages but I generally like the illustrations with text! )
Loved this book. It helped so much and had so much information. I would most definitely recommend this to new parents.
Such a useful book! It really gives me the essential information on what to expect about a baby especially for a first time mother like me. I am glad that I bought this book.
This book is not like the babycenter app. Stick with the app and save your money on the book.
Basic stuffs you need to know about after you have your baby.
Every page is exciting,with colorful pictures and highlights they are pretty easy to read.
My husband commented on it's rather 'magaziney' layout when he picked it but, which I think actually serves it well as it makes it easier to read and digest and less like studying a manual.
It's clear with useful photos and pics and I am especially enjoying the Playing and Learning chapter that gives very specific advice on games and nursery rhymes to try to stimulate physical and mental development in the early months. A lot of books can be a bit vague and preachy about this without giving detailed ideas. But this one is quite detailed.
A good buy all in all I think!
